In investigating murder of businessman Solomon Gavrilov it was found that suspects acted in a gang and were involved in a number of other murders of businessmen

Central Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee during investigation of hired murder of Solomon Gavrilov committed in 2009 in Moscow and murders of three businessmen and an attempted murder of a businessman in Moscow and Moscow Region in 2005-2007 has found that all these crimes had been committed by a stable armed gang on hire. Due to the fact all the criminal cases were filed in a single law suit.

The said crimes stayed unsolved for a long time. Persons involved in them were found in 2012 during investigation of murder of Gavrilov.

According to investigators the gang was created in 2005 by a 31-year-old Moscow resident, he also involved in it two his acquaintances a 25-year-old and a 28-year-old from Moscow Region and another 22-year-old was involved in a murder in 2009. It was found that the members of the gang had watched their victims for a long time and killed them with illegally acquired cold and firearms. The gang stopped existing in 2011 due to the fact that most of its members were captured by law enforcement.

Additionally to the charges brought earlier against the organizer of the gang who is internationally wanted, a criminal case has been started against him over signs of a crime under part 1 of article 209 of the RF Criminal Code (organization of a gang). A criminal case over part 2 of article 209 (membership in a gang) has been also initiated against three members of the gang who are already in custody.

The assumed contractor of the Gavrilov’s murder Yuri Izrailov hiding in Israel is internationally wanted.

At present investigating and procedural operations are underway to finish the investigation and bring final charges.
