Investigative Committee to run examination of documents received from USA in Maxim Kuzmin case

Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case over the death of Maxim Kuzmin adopted by the Shatto family in USA.

With the assistance of the Russia’s Foreign Ministry investigators have got the copies of materials of the investigation into the death of the child in USA (police reports, results of examinations, postmortem protocol and other documents).

At present the documents are being translated in Russian. As soon as it is finished a forensic medical expert examination will be assigned to find the mechanism the traumas were inflicted in and causes of Maxim Kuzmin’s death.

The Investigative Committee continues investigating though the American competent bodies refused to charge Maxim’s adoptive parents and dropped the criminal investigation claiming that the boy’s death had been an accident.
