In Mordovia chief of penal colony detained on suspicion of bribe taking on very large scale

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Republic of Mordovia have opened a criminal case against chief of penal colony No 13 of the local office of the Federal Penitentiary Service Dmitry Netskin. He is suspected of a crime under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribe taking on a very large scale).

According to investigators, in early 2013, the chief of the penal colony ordered to conclude agreements with several commercial organizations on sewing production made in the colony. Representatives of the commercial organizations had to pass him as so-called kickback 20% from the cost of sewing of one item. Later he calculated the approximate bribe for the production and on 3 September 2014, while receiving 1 million 25 thousand rubles the colonel of internal service was detained red-handed by the officers of local office of the Federal Security Service.

At present investigative and other operations are under way to find out all the circumstances of the crime and consolidate the evidence. The investigators are going to request custodial restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
