A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict former director of the regional construction and architecture department Alexander Morozov. The court and investigators have found that in December 2013, Morozov, serving as a deputy chairman for a commission formed by the department to review applications and documents filed by citizens to get compensations for the property lost to the Chernobyl disaster, illegally put two people on the list so that they could receive a compensation of 3.5 million rubles. Morozov was well aware that the meeting of the commission held on 27 November 2013 decided to refuse compensations to those two people. The crime was revealed during search and investigating operations carried out by officers of the Federal Security Service.
