Another suspect of mass scuffle at Mineralnye Vody hospital detained

The Stavropol Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee during the investigation in mass brawl at a hospital in the town of Mineralnye Vody as a crime under part 2 of article 213 of the RF Penal Code (hooliganism) and paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 111 (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm) are taking measures to find out the circumstances of the crime, identify all the persons involved in the conflict and role of each of them in it. Another main suspect 26-year-old Arman Akopyan has been held in Adler district of the city of Sochi, Krasnodar Territory and transported to the venue of preliminary investigation. Akopyan enjoys certain authority among criminals in Mineralnye Vody. He took an active part in beating up Anatoly Larionov at the hospital, where he later died. At present the investigators are preparing to file a request to place Akopyan in custody pending trial. Soon Akopyan will face charges of crimes under paragraphs “a” and “g” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder) and part 2 of article 213 (hooliganism).

According to investigators in the evening of 20 September 2014, several men got drunk and fought in Yevgenia café in the town of Mineralnye Vody. During the fight two suspects Andranik Tsakanyan and Yevgeny Smirnov hit one of the men on his head with a bottle by turn. The injured young man Roman Savechenko and his friends Anatoly Larionov and Ruslan Abdulzhalilov went to a hospital for help. Sometime later Tsakanyan also headed for the hospital and broke into it with a group of about 30 people. In the corridor they brutally beat Anatoly Larionov and injured Ruslan Abdulzhalilov and a nurse Nina Stanka.

This way, as of today, there are 22 suspects, 16 of whom have been detained (Andranik Tskanyan, Yevgeny Smirnov, Ivan Zheranov, Samvel Manucharyan, Arman Akopyan, Maxim Tsakanyan, Artyom Voronov and a 17-year-old teenager, Zaman Babayev, Akhmet Mutayev, Robert Arustamyan, Grant Akopyan, Vladimir Tsakanyan Khachik Arutyunyan, Pavel Delyanidi, Armen Osipyan).

The investigation is ongoing and supervised by S.V. Dubrovin, Head of the Stavropol Territory Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee personally. The investigators are taking all possible measures to bring to justice all the people involved in that conspicuous and brutal crime.
