In Krasnoyarsk Territory criminal investigation launched in death of child of dog bites

The investigating bodies of Krasnoyarsk Territory Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation against a 32-year-old woman from the city of Murmansk into the death of a one-year-old girl of dog bites as a crime under part 1 of article 109 of the RF Penal Code (reckless homicide).

According to investigators, on 20 November the woman, the girl’s mother, was drunk and left her on-year-old daughter alone in a detached house. A short time later, when she came back she saw the girl outside with bite marks left by the god held in the yard. The woman said that the dog had bit her older child and her friend’s son before. The girl’s family was not registered as a problem one.

At present the investigators are questioning witnesses and revealing the circumstances of the incident. During the probe they are going to assess the actions of the woman, who failed to provide proper oversight over her own child. The investigation is ongoing.
