Criminal investigation into murder of 8-year-old Vasilisa Galitsyna finished in Tatarstan

The Tatarstan Republic investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against 30-year-old Uzbekistan national Farukh Tashbayev. He is charged with crimes under paragraphs “c” and “j” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder of a small child with abduction committed to conceal another crime or facilitate its perpetration and with rape or sexual abuse), paragraph “e” of part 2 of article 126 (abduction of underage), paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 131 (rape of a victim under 14), paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 132 (sexual abuse of a person under 14).

We remind that Tashbayev was detained in Naberezhnye Chelny during well planned investigation and search operations. The man confessed to the crime and showed the place where he had hidden the girl’s body. It was found that the child had died of massive blood loss of blood due to a stabbed wound to her chest damaging lung and heart. In addition, traces of strangling and sexual abuse were found on the girl’s body.

Investigators have done a lot of work. Several tens of expert examinations have been run. The DNA test showed that there was Galitsyna’s blood on Tashbayev’s clothes and on the back seat of his car. The expert examination also found that the hairs found in the car were also Galitsyna’s. Tashbayev’s fingerprints were found on the girl’s books and copybooks.

At the finishing stage of the investigation Tashbayev did not confess to the crime. Under the investigators’ petition court ruled to place him into custody as a pretrial restraining measure.

Investigators have collected enough evidence and the case has been sent to court for the indictment to be approved and further will be sent to court to be tried on the merits.
