Experienced forensic experts of Investigative Committee Central Office sent to provide practical assistance in investigation into murder of six people in Belgorod

Today, an unknown person opened fire on visitors to the shop "Okhota" at the Narodny Boulevard in the center of the city of Belgorod and then on passers-by on the street, and fled by car. According to preliminary information, six people were killed, including a 14-year-old girl. Given the evidence, the investigating bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Belgorod region opened a criminal case for an offense under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (murder of two or more persons).

To date, investigators have identified the suspect in a crime. It is a previously convicted resident of Belgorod Sergei Pomazun, released from prison in 2012. In addition, they detected vehicle in which the suspect allegedly fled from the crime scene.

At present, the investigators are conducting a crime scene examination, establishing the circumstances and motives of the crime. In addition, the suspect's father's apartment is being searched. Investigators have information that a hunting rifle which Pomazun used for killing people had been kept in this apartment. Also, an examination of the car BMW «X5», which a suspect was driving, is continuing.
