In Moscow director of special construction questioned over selling shares of strategically important facility at understated price

Main Military Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee as part of investigating a criminal case over frauds in selling property belonging to subsidiary companies and those controlled by OAO Oboronsdrvis (OJSC) has questioned director of Federal Agency of Special Construction Grigory Naginsky.

In 2011, companies VitaProject and Sosnovoborelektromontazh bought at lowered price 70% and 30% respectively of shares of OAO 31st State Design Institute of Special Construction (OJSC) which was the main organization in designing special facilities and cosmic industry facilities. Investigators have found that the former was at the time controlled by Yevgenia Vasilyeva, co-owners of the latter were daughter and wife of former Defense Minister Grigory Naginsky. When investigators started looking into the deal VitaProject and Sosnovoborelektromontazh free and of their own accord returned to the state represented by the ministry of Defense 100% of shares of31st State Design Institute of Special Construction.

In connection with the selling at understated price property of the institute, the former head of Property Relations Department of the Defense Ministry Yevgenia Vasilyeva was charged with crimes under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Criminal Code (fraud on an especially grand scale).

Grigory Naginsky during the interrogation as a witness told investigators what he knew about the details of the deal. Investigation is ongoing.
