Stately meeting dedicated to Victory Day takes place in Investigative Committee

A stately meeting dedicated to the Victory Day has taken place today in the Russia’s Investigative Committee. The meeting was attended by veterans of investigating bodies, senior and rank and file staff of the Committee, cadets and relatives of investigators killed in the line of duty.

In his opening speech First Vice-Chairman of Investigative Committee Vasily Piskaryov noted that “the Victory Day is deservingly a nationwide holiday. Pride for the military glory of Russia, deep understanding of high importance of military deeds and duty to take care of our Fatherland has been handed down from generation to generation. These are the patriotic feelings our people have in their blood and national character. They are the integral part of our history full with examples of courage and bravery of our soldiers”.

At the meeting by Presidential Decree the orders of Glory were awarded to veterans of Great patriotic War and veterans of investigating bodies Vladimir Ladeyshchikov, Anatoly Ladychuk, Viktor Makarov and Sergey Tyurin. Veterans of investigating bodies Yevgeny Ilchenko, Eduard Merkushev, Svetlana Peletskaya, Sergey Samoilov and Yuri Yakovlev were awarded badges “Honorary employee of the RF Investigative Committee”.

Words of congratulation were said by former Prosecutor General of USSR Alexander Sukharev and veterans of investigating bodies Vladimir Kravtsev and Sergey Tyurin. Mr. Tyurin noted “that each year the Investigative Committee sees its guest of honor Alexander Yakovlevich Sukharev, the former Prosecutor General of USSR and it is one of confirmations that the Investigative Committee does not forget its history. I would say that such attitude to veterans of investigation from senior officials of the Committee is demonstration of state wisdom”.

During the meeting there was showed a movie dedicated to the employees of the Investigative Committee killed in the line of duty.

On the eve of the Victory Day a military patriotic campaign “Ball of Winners” took place in Moscow. There cadets of Alexander Nevsky Cadet School of the Russian Investigative Committee congratulated the veterans.
