In Moscow Yusup Temerkhanov found guilty of killing former colonel Yuri Budanov

Court has found evidence collected by Moscow Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict Yusup Temerkhanov. He was found guilty of crimes under part 1 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder) and part 1 of article 222 (illegal handling of firearms).

Investigation and court have found that on 10 June 2011, around 12:00 at the moment when Yuri Budanov was leaving a notary in Komsomolsky Prospekt Temerkhanov shot at him 8 times from a pistol. The victim died on the spot. After the murder Temerkhanov escaped on a Misubishi Lancer and later burned down the car hoping that all the evidence of his involvement in the crime would be destroyed by the fire. However, the fire was timely extinguished. As a result the investigators found and seized a lot of objects, including those having DNA traces on them which helped to identify the suspect.

Court sentenced Temerkhanov to 15 years in high-security prison.
