Former director of Kratovo boarding house and one of his accomplices charged with frauds with land to stand trial in Moscow

Moscow Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have completed investigating a criminal case against Alexander Tarasov, former director of Kratovo boarding house for children with parents and Yuri Balyberdin, chairman of owners’ partnership “Dacha holding Kratovo”. They are charged with crimes under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Criminal Code (seindling), part 3 of article 30, part 4 of article 159 (attempted swindling), part 3 of article 174.1 (legalization of property acquired through criminal activity).

According to investigators, during the period from 2007 to August 2011, in violation of applicable legislation, Tarasov transferred the ownership of at least 48 items of immovable property of the health resort with total cost of about 30 million rubles to private individuals including himself and his relatives, in fact, having carried out the seizure of land by building a fence and establishing a guard. In 2010 Tarasov and Balyberdin applied to the Territorial Department FSI "Land Cadastral Chamber" in the Moscow region with subdivision claims. Tarasov hid the fact of his dismissal as director and acted on behalf of the latter. As the result of these actions the state suffered especially large-scale damage of no less than 98 million rubles.

Under the petition of investigators the accused were placed into custody for the period of investigation.

Investigators have collected enough evidence, therefore, the case with approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
