Investigating bodies of Moscow Region Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are carrying out a pre-investigating check based on the files of search and investigating operations of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) against top managers of state-owned enterprises Central Research and Mechanical Engineering Institute (TsNIIMash) and USS No 5 under the Federal Agency of Special Building over violations in the implementation of target-specific programme GLONASS.

According to preliminary data, during reconstruction and technical re-equipment of corps 100-1 of TsNIIMash, based in the city of Korolyov, the substantial amount of work not provided by project documents was fictitiously carried out and later put in the project documents and paid for. As a result the federal budget suffered considerable damage of more than 107 million rubles.

During the check the regional investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are going to give legal assessment to the actions of the CEO of USS No 5, first deputy general manager TsNIIMash, head of capital building department of TsNIIMash.

Check is underway to find all the circumstances. A procedural decision will be made based on the results of the check.
