Mayor of Makhachkala held on suspicions of organizing murder of officer of Investigative Committee

On 31 May 2013, Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation against mayor of the city of Makhachkala Said Amirov over his organization in December 2011 of acting head of investigations department in Sovetsky district of Makhachkala Arsen Gadzhibekov containing signs of a crime under part 3 of article 33, article 295 of the RF Criminal Code (organization of an encroachment on the life of a person conducting a preliminary investigation).

At the moment Amirov is under arrest and has been transported under guard to Moscow. His arrest has become a result of efficiently planned, meticulous and professional work of investigators of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and operative officers of Russian Federal Security Service. In addition, in this investigation more than 10 Amirov’s accomplices have been held and most of them were also transported to Moscow and are under investigating operations. Investigators are also checking all the arrested on involvement in a number of other serious and especially serious crimes in the Republic of Dagestan.

Investigation of Amirov’s case was ordered to Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and will be conducted strictly following criminal and procedural legislation of the Russian Federation.
