Dmitry Vinogradov charged with killing 6 people to stand trial in Moscow

The investigating bodies of the Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against Dmitry Vinogradov. He is charged with crimes under paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 105, part 3 of article 30, paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder of two or more people, attempted murder of two or more people) and part 1 of article 280 (public calls for extremism).

According to investigators, in the morning of 7 November 2012, Vinogradov entered the office of the pharmaceutical company, with which he is employed and opened fire from his carbines. Three men and two women were killed at their workplaces. At the stairs to the office the suspect shot to death another of his colleagues. Later one more man died at hospital. Only one woman survived the assault. Vinogradov was detained by the company’s security agents, when they had heard the shots.

In order to justify and excuse his crime, in the morning, before committing the above-mentioned criminal acts, Vinogradov posted a text entitled "My Manifesto" on his page in a social network. Investigators have examined the text and, according to psychological and linguistic expert evaluations, it contained calls for extremist activities.

Investigators have gathered enough evidence, accordingly the case with the approved indictment has been forwarded to court to be tried on the merits.
