Four charged with killing a man from Pugachov, Saratov Region

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has detained four young men in investigation of a murder of a local man in the town of Pugachov, Saratov Region. All of them are charged with a crime under article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder) and were placed into custody as a pretrial restraining measure.

We remind that on 6 July 2013, in Pugachov near a café during a brawl provoked by a group of visitors a 20-year-old local man received no less than 17 knife wounds, of which then in a short time he died in a hospital.

During the inquiry, investigators have questioned more than 60 witnesses, assigned 14 medical, biological, DNA, dactylographic, forensic and other analyses.

Investigators and criminologists of the Central Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are carefully looking into the circumstances of the crime, including the motives, causes and conditions contributing to it and the reasons of mass riots of the locals. Investigation is ongoing.
