Investigative Committee to check control and law-enforcement bodies on corrupt connections in trade on markets

The Russia’s Investigative Committee carries on investigating criminal cases connected with the incident at the Matveyevsky market place opened against police officers Alexey Pravkin, Vladrimir Cherezov, Yuri Lunkov and Khalimat and Magomed Rasulov suspected of an attack on the agent of criminal detection department.

The day before, searches were carried out in the administration of the Matveyevsky market place, in flats of the market head and staff and in the offices and homes of officials of the Ochakovo-Matveyevsky district department of the Interior Ministry in Moscow. Documents and objects relevant for the criminal investigation were seized during the searches. In addition investigators of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are carrying out a number of other investigating operations, so that in the shortest possible time to conduct comprehensive complete inquiry, find all the persons involved in the said crimes and give their actions an objective legal assessment.

To find corrupt connections in organization of trade on markets the senior officials of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have ordered to check carefully the legality of the decisions to refuse opening cases in wrongdoings or inaction of staff of control and law-enforcement bodies, officials of local authorities. This implies not only markets in Moscow, the checks will take place across the country.

Citizens, who faced wrongdoings from officials in distribution of trading places, extortion when doing business on the market can make reports to the Investigative Committee through territorial investigating bodies.
