On September 23, 2013, at 8 AM, a driver of VAZ 2107 rammed through the fence and drove into the yard of the district police station in the village of Khuchni, tabasaransky distric. After that he set off a bomb planted in the car and stuffed with striking elements. 1 officer of migration service and 1 police officer died in the explosion, more than 10 people were injured. 9 cars, the building of the police station and migration service were damaged. According to preliminary information the power of the bomb was more than 50 kilos of TNT.

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the Republic of Dagestan have launched a criminal investigation into the signs of crimes under paragraph “b” of part 3 of article 205 of the RF Criminal Code (terrorist attack), part 1 of article 222 of the RF Criminal Code (illegal circulation of firearms) and part 1 of article 223 (illegal manufacture of an explosive device).

At present investigating operations are under way to find all the circumstances of the crime, measures are being taken to solve the crime and identify the suicide bomber. Investigation is ongoing.
