Leadership of Russia’s Investigative Committee taking under control case over murder of young man at Vostryakovsky Passage in Moscow

The leadership of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has taken under control the investigation of the criminal case over murder of a 25-year-old young man, who protected his girlfriend during a conflict at Vostryakovsky Passage.

Criminologists and specialists of the Central Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and experienced officers of Moscow Main Office of the Russian Interior Ministry have been sent to help investigate the crime. For further investigation the case has been forwarded to department for especially important crimes of Moscow Main Investigations Directorate. An investigative group has been set up.

According to investigators at night of 10 October 2013, the young man and his girlfriend were coming back home. An unidentified man came up to the couple near their house and during the conflict stabbed the young man in the body. The young man died on the spot and the suspect fled the scene.

The investigators have already carried out a number of investigating operations, namely have questioned the witnesses and given precise orders to operational services to identify and find the person, who committed the murder. Over 90 people have already been checked on being involved in the crime. At present the full-scale hunt for the suspect is underway.
