Investigators in Moscow making every possible effort to hold assumed murderer of Yegor Shcherbakov

The criminal case into the murder of Yegor Shcherbakov is being actively investigated. Experienced criminologists and specialists of the Central Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are involved in the investigation. As a result of joint investigating and search operations a considerable number of witnesses and those, who came into the law enforcement bodies to help the investigation even with a small piece of information have already been questioned. The investigators have a CCTV image of the suspect, which is now being used to find him. This way the investigators are using all their legal authority to solve the crime and arrest the suspect as soon as possible.

Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee is going to give a tough legal qualification to the actions of officials of the Biryulyovo Zapadnoye district board and other supervising authorities of the district, whose inaction partly contributed to the increase in the indignation among the people caused by the violation of the law, connected with the activity of fruit and vegetable market ZAO Novye Cheremushki (CJSC), which mostly employs migrants from the near abroad.

In addition the investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in Moscow are going to start a procedural check into the attack on the officers of the riot police during the unauthorized rallies in Biryulyovo district, as soon as the corresponding files arrive from the Interior Ministry. During the check the investigators are also going to find if the actions of participants of the unauthorized rally contain signs of a crime under article 212 of the RF penal Code (mass riots).

The Investigative Committee has several times drew attention to the serious and especially serious crimes committed in our country by foreigners, persons without any citizenship, including the migrants from the near abroad. In this view the Investigative Committee has repeatedly showed initiative, including legislative ones, aimed at prevention of such crimes. This way in 2009 the Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee offered to introduce the fingerprinting and DNA registration of migrants. This measure not only could have enhanced the control over the migrants in Russia, but would have made the solving the crimes committed by them much easier. In addition, during the analysis of cause-and-affect relations in each of the criminal cases opened against the migrants the investigating bodies have to send requests in corresponding bodies, Federal Migration Service and Interior Ministry, pointing out the necessity to eliminate the reasons and circumstances contributing to the crimes. Nevertheless it happens all over again and the investigators, unfortunately, have to work on each crime, which has already been committed, based on the principle of unavoidability of punishment so that no criminal avoids justice.
