Vice-Chairman of Investigative Committee at Amur Region Investigations Directorate heard progress of investigation into destruction of Shimanovsky reservoir dike during 2013 flood

Today Andrey Lavrenko, Vice-Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the town of Blagoveshchensk, Amur Region heard the progress of the investigation into the destruction of Shimanovsky reservoir dike during the 2013 flood.

Mr. Lavrenko, noting generally correct tactics of the investigating operations underway, gave clear orders to take measures to find cause-and-effect relations between the actions of the officials and the consequences dangerous for people and to find other circumstances of the incident. Moreover, Mr. Lavrenko stressed that the Central Office of the Russia’s Investigative Committee would assist in organizing and running the expert examinations to help solve the crime in the shortest possible time.

Mr. Lavrenko also has taken part in the meeting of the Governmental Commission on response to the devastating flood in Amur Region.

In addition the meeting in Blagoveshchensk summarized the performance of the local investigations directorate over the past 9 months discussing quality of preliminary investigation, compliance with the procedural terms, observance of constitutional rights of citizens during prosecution. The Vice-Chairman demanded to take additional organizational measures to eliminate the revealed violations in the said areas.
