Official of federal company accused of commercial bribery to face trial in Moscow

The Central Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has finished investigating a criminal case against former head of property management office of the federal state unitary enterprise FT-Center Timur Kashapov. He is charged with a crime under part 3 of article 30, paragraph “a” of part 4 of article 204 of the RF Penal Code (attempt to illegally get money for acting in the interests of the briber connected with his official position committed by an organized group in a preliminary conspiracy).

According to investigators, Kashapov in 2012 together with the deputy general director of FT-Center Anvar Rustamov and with the help of official of the Russian Federal Service for Managing State Property Vladimir Pinigin demanded from a representative of a commercial organization to give him 13 million rubles as a commercial bribe for actions, which were within their official power, to assist the organization to win a tender held by TF-Center on selling a building in Moscow. The accused failed to finish their criminal intentions as were stopped by law enforcement agents.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, therefore the criminal case against Kashapov with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.

Pinigin has concluded a cooperation deal with the investigators and has been convicted. Rustamov escaped and is now wanted.
