CEO of OAO Uralkali (OJSC) – Chairman of supervisory board of ZAO Belarus Potash Company (CJSC) Vladislav Baumgertner has been convoyed to the Russian Federation from Belarus and placed in pre-trial detention center. Earlier on the request of investigators the court ruled to place him in custody as a pre-trail restraint.

Today the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has charged Vladislav Baumgertner with the crime under part 3 of article 33, part 2 of article 201 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of office). After that he was questioned as the accused.

Investigators believe that the accused abused his powers, when managing commercial organizations, using them against the legal interests of those organizations and for benefit and profit of third persons. This caused considerable damage and grave consequences to joint Russian-Belorussian enterprise Belarus Potash Company and Belaruskali. Investigation is ongoing.
