In Komi Republic charges pressed against former head of administrative city district Syktyvkar and his deputy

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the Republic of Komi have pressed charges against deputy of the council of Syktyvkar city district municipality – former head of administration of the city district Roman Zenishchev and his former deputy Sergey Luchenkov. Depending on the role of each one they are charged with crimes under paragraph “d” of part 4 of article 290 (receiving a bribe by an official for illegal actions committed on a massive scale), part 1 of article 286 (exceeding official powers), part 5 of article 33, paragraph “d” of part 4 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (complicity in receiving a bribe by an official for illegal actions committed on a massive scale).

According to investigators, Zenishchev with complicity of Luchenkov received 10 million rubles as a bribe for illegal actions during implementation of a municipal contract on preparation of construction documents, construction and delivery of equipment to the module boiler house in the village of Nizhny Chov in the city of Syktyvkar in 2007.

Roman Zenishchev was internationally wanted and the court had ruled in absentia to place him in custody. During the operative support of the investigation, personnel of the Komi Office of the Federal Security Service detained him in Moscow and transported in Syktyvkar. Investigation is ongoing.
