Alexander Bastrykin holds briefing in Arkhangelsk Region and visits Velsky children’s home

Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has held a briefing in the Arkhangelsk Region, where he heard the report by acting head of the Arkhangelsk Region and Nenets Autonomous Area Investigations Directorate Vladimir Gusev and heads of a number of investigations offices on the results in 2013. After hearing the reports Mr. Bastrykin gave orders and certain instructions concerning some of the criminal cases under investigation in the Arkhangelsk Region and Nenets Autonomous Area Investigations Directorate.

Immediately after the briefing the Chairman visited Velsky children’s home, where he talked to inmates and staff. During the visit the children received presents purchased on the money collected by the personnel of the Investigative Committee. Then problems and needs of the facility were discussed in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Mr. Bastrykin made a decision to take Velsky children’s home under the patronage of the Russia’s Investigative Committee. The facility became 187th children’s home patronized by investigators of the Committee. Those patronized facilities have over 13.5 thousand inmates. Namely, personnel of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee over the past 4 years alone have collected about 2 million rubles as personal donations to help the inmates of Muromsky children’s home in Vladimir Region.
