May 9, 2014, a ceremonial parade to commemorate the 69th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held at Novosobornaya Square of Tomsk. Tens of thousands of people gathered at the square to watch the Victory Parade and participate in a festive procession. After a solemn meeting, the files of the military, the students of the Tomsk Cadet Corps, representatives of law enforcement agencies and the public marched through the square. The "Immortal Regiment" numbering over 25 thousand people marched behind them.

People were carrying portraits of their relatives who had fought and died in the Great Patriotic War. The campaign “Immortal Regiment" was first held in 2012 in Tomsk, which residents were the initiators of the idea. In that year, about six thousand participated in the Victory Parade as part of the "Immortal Regiment". This campaign was taken enthusiastically in many cities of our country, and now the march of the "Immortal Regiment" at the Victory Parade is a countrywide event. The festive column went to the Lagerny Garden to the monument of military and labor glory for laying flowers and wreaths. More than 65,000 people took part in the Victory Parade.

The Head of Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Tomsk Region Vladimir Litvinenko and the staff of the Investigations Directorate laid flowers to the monument of military and labor glory. Together with representatives of regional authorities, law enforcement agencies and community associations, they commemorated those who had died fighting for their homeland by observing a minute of silence.
