In Kursk Region on eve of Victory Day employees of regional investigations directorate cleaned up memorial and grave of veteran of Great Patriotic War and investigating bodies

On 6 May 2014 employees of the Kursk Region Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee cleaned up the memorial and grave of veteran of the Great Patriotic War and investigating bodies Mikhail Alexandrovcih Gordeyev buried on the Alley of Glory in the city of Kursk with other cavaliers of the Order of Alexander Nevsky.

During the Great Patriotic War from June 1941 to May 1945 Mr. Gordeyev served in the acting army as a commander of an infantry company, second in command of an infantry battalion, was awarded the order of Alexander Nevsky, Red Star and a lot of medals, in 1947 was transferred to the reserve as captain. After graduating from Moscow Law Institute Mr. Gordeyev worked as an investigator for over 40 years. In 1998, 4 years after retirement, he died and was buried as a cavalier of the Order of Alexander Nevsky on the Alley of Glory in Kursk.

The employees of the Kursk Region Investigations Directorate placed flowers to his grave and that of his wife to thank for the feats in the war, as well as a sign of deep respect for many-year work in the investigating bodies.
