The Moscow Region Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has finished investigating a criminal case against a resuscitation expert charged with a crime under part 2 of article 235 of the RF Penal Code (illegal private medical practice entailing death of a patient by negligence).

According to investigators the accused, not having license or any specific expertise in psychiatry and narcology, not being a self-employed doctor, took up private medical practice – illegal paid provision of medical services in the field of psychiatry and narcology to an unidentified circle of people, which entailed death of a patient by negligence.

This way, on 26 November 2012, the accused attended a call of Domodedovo resident and provided paid medical service of narcologic nature to a heavily drunk man. The doctor injected the man with different medications, including doxylamine (in the concentration higher that therapeutically), phenazepam, contra-indicated for acute alcohol poisoning, CRBM and no-spa. As a result of taking all those medications and heavy alcohol intoxication the patient died of a combined poisoning with alcohol and medications.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, therefore, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
