On 22 June 2014, around 2 PM, there was a premature explosion of explosives at the 750^th horizon of a pit at OAO Gai Ore-Dressing and Processing Enterprise (Ltd.), wounding 6 workers. The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Orenburg Region have launched a criminal investigation into a crime under part 3 of article 216 of the RF Penal Code (violation of safety rules during mining involving death of two or more people by negligence).

A team of investigators of Troitsk investigation department and a criminalist of the regional investigations directorate set off for the scene immediately.

As of now it is known that three people were killed by the explosion two more were taken to Gai district hospital, one more miner is looked for. As soon as the mine rescue operations have been finished, the investigators set about examining the scene and other initial investigating operations.
