Together with inmates of the Ruzayevka orphanage, the staff of the Mordov Republic Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation congratulated a veteran of the Great Patriotic War and investigating authorities Valentin Vasilyevich Filippov on the eve of the Victory Day.

After the greetings, presenting flowers and a gift, Valentin Vasilyevich Filippov told Investigations Directorate employees and children about the tragic years of the war and the victory which had been dearly bought.

In November 1943, at the age of 17, Valentin Vasilyevich Filippov was drafted into the army; he is a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, took part in the war against imperial Japan. He has been awarded military decorations and medals. He had served in the Armed Forces as an officer until May 1950. After getting through the war and giving his service duty to the Fatherland, Valentin Vasilyevich Filippov continued to serve the Law – he had worked as an investigator and a prosecutor-criminalist for 35 years, making a significant contribution to the development of Mordovian forensic services. Having retired, Valentin Vasilyevich Filippov continues to liaise with the staff of the Investigations Directorate of the Republic, has is actively involved in the patriotic education of youth, being a living example of morality, patriotism and love for his homeland. At the invitation of members of the Forensic Department, he has repeatedly spoken at investigators’ seminars, talking about interesting episodes of the war, stages of his development as a professional using the examples of the investigation of specific criminal cases.
