The Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has held a briefing today in the city of Tomsk to hear a report on the investigation in kidnapping and murder of a 3-year-old girl.

At the meeting it was reported to Mr. Bastrykin that investigators of the Main Investigations Directorate and criminologists of the Main Criminalistics Directorate of the Investigative Committee in conjunction with an investigation operative team of the Tomsk Region Investigations Directorate during massive and professionally planned operations carried out in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of the Interior and Federal Security Service had detained a suspect in the murder of the girl.

Mr. Bastrykin ordered the investigators to carry out a number of investigative operations and run analyses to check if the suspect had been involved in the crime.

At present active investigating and search operations are ongoing to find out all the circumstances of the crime.
