Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has opened a criminal case against justice of the peace of Brachevka District in the Stavropol Territory Sergey Rudenko, suspected of a crime under paragraph “b” of part 5 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribery).

According to investigators, in July 2013, the justice of peace took a cash bribe of 70 thousand rubles through an intermediate to wrap up an administrative case under article 12.26 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences (failure by a drive to take an alcohol test) and for giving back a driving license.

The preliminary investigation was entrusted to the Stavropol Territory Investigations Directorate. At present investigative operations are underway to gather necessary evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
