In Krasnodar Territory bus driver found guilty of breach of highway regulations injuring four including children

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Territory sufficient to convict Sergey Andriyanov. He was found guilty of a crime under part 2 of article 264 of the RF Penal Code (violation of highway regulations entailing grievous bodily harm by negligence).

The court and investigators have revealed that on 9 July 2014, the bus with a group of 35 children and 2 adults on board was moving from the village of Vityazevo, Anapa District to the railway station "Tonnelnaya". Near the village of Lenninsky Put moving to the city of Novorossiysk the bus driver, who was drunk, failed to select a safe speed mode, lost control and hit a barrier, overturning the bus. Three children aged 10 to 14 years, one of the chaperones were seriously injured in the accident.

The court has sentenced Andriyanov to 2.5 years to be served in an open prison and taken away his driving license for 3 years.
