Alexander Bastrykin holds New Year reception for cadets from among orphans and children left without parental care

Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has held the New Year reception of cadets of Alexander Nevsky Cadet School of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and cadet classes from among orphans and children left without parental care including children of the Investigative Committee officials killed on duty.

The event was attended by Chairman of the Council of regional NGO Union of Investigation Veterans Vladimir Dontsov, Director of Alexander Nevsky Cadet School Igor Zaporozhan, war veterans, cadets from Moscow, Moscow Region, Saint-Petersburg, Vologda Region and officials of the Investigative Committee Central Office.

The cadets told about conditions in their schools, their plans for future, gave Mr. Bastrykin presents they had made themselves, including an album with photos and recited poems.

The Chairman thanked them for their talent, patriotism and successes they made in studying Russian history and other sciences. “On my own behalf and behalf of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and investigators I would like to thank you for being patriots as this is the guarantee that you will be our successors and will carry on traditions of the Russia’s Investigative Committee”, - Mr. Bastrykin stressed addressing the cadets.

In his turn the Chairman gave children a set of hockey gears expressing hope that they would develop their sport skills and set up their hockey team. Mr. Bastrykin also awarded all the cadets memorial badges and gave them presents.

During the reception all the present held a minute of silence to pay tribute to all those who was killed on duty. The reception finished with singing patriotic songs.
