DNA test confirms involvement of detained man to brutal murder of 10-year-old girl in Rostov Region

Rostov Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are investigating a criminal case opened in crimes under paragraphs “c” and “j” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder), paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 131 (rape).

It has been reported earlier that on 28 January 2015, the Rostov Region investigating bodies received a report that a 10-year-old girl was missing in the town of Krasny Sulin in Rostov Region. During search operations the girl’s dead body with signs of violent death was found in one of streets in the town.

Headquarters headed by Head of Rostov Region Investigative Committee Y. V. Popov and Head of Rostov Region Main Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior A.P. Larionov was established and received and analyzed all the information connected with the conspicuous crime.

During several days investigators and criminalists of Rostov Region and North Caucasus Federal District Investigative Committee, together with officers of the Rostov Region Main Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior, Main Crime Detection Office of the Russian Ministry of the Interior carried out investigating and search operations round the clock to identify the criminal.

As a result of efficient and careful work of investigators and police officers, the person involved in the brutal crime against a child has been identified. It is a 49-year-old resident of the town of Krasny Sulin.

Today the investigators have learned the results of the DNA test, which confirmed that the detained man was involved in the murder.

At present the investigators continue interrogating the man, custodial restraint and charges are expected soon.
