The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case over organization of, participation in and calls for mass riots and use of violence against representatives of authorities on 6 May 2012 on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow and over plotting mass riots in the Russian Federation.

Another active participant of mass riots have been identified and then apprehended. It is Ivan Nepomnyashchikh, 24, from the town of Zagorsk, Moscow Region, a development engineer with OAO Scientific and Production Association Rodina. On 25 February 2015, one of eye-witnesses recognized Nepomnyshchikh as one of those who used force against police officers on Bolotnaya Square. He was held on suspicions of crimes under part 2 of article 212 and part 1 of article 318 of the RF Penal Code.

The investigators have revealed, that on 6 May 2012, on Bolotnaya Square Nepomnyshchikh tried to stop the police against holding some aggressive citizens and hit them with his hands and an umbrella.

During a questioning in the presence of his lawyer Nepomnyshchikh did not confessed and refused to make a statement.

However, his guilt is proved by video records showing how he hit the police officers and by the conclusion of a forensic inquiry confirming that it was Nepomnyshchikh on the video, as well as by statements of victims and witnesses.

The investigators have filed a request with a court asking to place Nepomnyshchikh in custody. Charges are going to be pressed soon.

It should be noted that no-one of the organizers or participants of mass riots on Bolotnaya Square will not avoid prosecution, so identification of other participants is continued.
