In Udmurtia local resident sentenced to life in prison for killing a school girl

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by Udmurtia investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict a 30-year-old resident of the city of Votkinsk and former criminal Dmitry Mansurov. He was found guilty of crimes under paragraph “c” and “j” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder of a child aggravated by a rape), paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 131 (rape of a minor) and part 1 of article 158 (theft).

The court and investigators revealed that in the evening of 24 September 2014, children playing outside in the town of Vorkinsk saw how a man was chasing after a girl near an abandoned factory. They reported it to the police, who then found a dead body of a 10-year-old girl with signs of strangulation.

During interrogations Mansurov who had been convicted of a rape before confessed that he had first raped the girl and then strangled her. In addition, the investigators also found that in May 2014, Mansurov had stolen a bicycle.

The court sentence Mansurov to life imprisonment.
