In Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra probe opened in death of 8-year-old boy in Filin water park

On 26 March 2015, there was report that an 8-year-old boy died in Filin water part in the village of Finsky, Surgut. Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in  a crime under paragraph “c” of part 2 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (delivering services that do not meet consumers’ life and health safety standards entailing death of a person by negligence).

An investigative team, headed by the First Deputy Head of the Investigative Committee for Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra carries on working at the scene. Investigators are going to do everything necessary to find out all the circumstances of the incident and reveal reasons and conditions that contributed to the crime. The water park is being searched, the investigators are confiscated documents relevant for the investigation and have assigned a forensic medical expert examination to find out the cause of the boy’s death. Individuals on charge of the safety at the water park are going to be identified. The investigation is under special control of senior officials of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra Investigations Directorate.
