On April 7, 2015, a fire birst out at the interhull space in the afterbody of the nuclear submarine Oryol during repairs at the shipyard Zvyozdochka in the city of Severodvinsk.The fire caused large damage. Investigative bodies of Arkhangelsk Region and Nenets Autonomous District Offices of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation lainched criminal investigation in an offense under part 1 of article 216 of the RF Penal Code (violation of safety rules during repairs, which caused extensive damage by negligence). 

According to preliminary data, as a result of the accident, no threat has arisen to the lives and health of people or environmental safety.

Investigators are currently working at the fire scene, investigation actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the accident are underway.
