Ulyanovsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigation a case against Eduard Zinnurov, Kamil Aleyev and Rustam Yakhiyev charged with a crime under paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 111 of the RF Penal Code (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm).

According to investigators, on 30 December 2014, in the yard of a house in Robespierre in Lenin district in the town of Ulyanovsk, the accused had a conflict with a 27-year-old police officer Andrey Arapov and his 21-year-old brother and used a non-fatal gun to wound them. At present the investigations directorate has received results of forensic medical inquiries run by the victim, and forensic psychiatric inquiries of the accused.

In addition, the investigators have revealed, that on 16 February 2010, Zinnurov acted among the members of a criminal group and extorted 50 thousand rubles from the parents of an underage resident of the city of Kazan (paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 163 of the RF Penal Code).

At present both cases have been joined to form a single proceeding, the investigators are carrying out operations to find out all the circumstances of the crimes. The investigators have filed a request to extend custodial restraint for Zinnurov, Aleyev and Yakhiyev. The investigation is ongoing.
