In Stavropol Territory two young people found guilty of attacking and robbing businessman’s family in Georgiyevsk District, killing two children and other crimes

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by Stavropol Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict residents of the village of Nizhnepodkumskoye of the town of Pyatigorsk Yevgeny Kolomoytsev, found guilty of killing two children, attempted murder of a woman, illegal circulation of firearms, robbery, involving a minor in committing a crime, attempted theft (part 1 of article 222 of the RF Penal Code, part 4 of article 150, paragraph “c” of part 4 of article 162, paragraphs “a”, “c” and “h” of part 2 of article 105, part 3 of article 30, paragraphs “a” and “h” of part 2 of article 105, part 3 of article 30, paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 158) and Vladimir Solodilov, found guilty of a theft (article 158 of the RF Penal Code).

The court and investigators have revealed that on 28 July 2013, Kolomoytsev and an acquaintance of his who was underage at the moment, got into a house in the village of Lysogorskaya, Georgiyevsk District through the roof. Inside Kolomoytsev shot to the head of a 15-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl. The girl died on the spot, the boy later in the hospital. Having heard the shots, the children’s mother entered the room and also got shot. However, the two men failed to kill her as the bullet got into her jaw and into a tooth. Then the men fled the scene.

In addition, in January 2014, Kolomoytsev together with Solodilov tried to steal money from a house in the city of Yessentuki, but were held by the police.

The court sentenced Kolomoytsev to 25 years in prison and Solodilov to 2 years in prison.

The criminal case against the underage accomplice has been severed in a separate proceeding and sent to Georgiyevsk town court to be tried on the merits.
