Astrakhan Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against former Deputy Chairman of the Astrakhan Region Government – Minister of Agriculture Ivan Nesterenko, charged with a crime under part 1 of article 293 of the RF Penal Code (negligence).

Investigators revealed that Nesterneko aware that the state property management agency was planning to sell controlling interest of OAO Astrakhansky product for 13.6 million rubles, in December 2012, provided the company with state subsidies of 108 million rubles. He told the agency about the provided state support which led to more expensive cost of the company, only after the bidding had been held. This way, the controlling interest of the company, the actual cost of which considering subsidies was 43 million rubles, was sold for 13.6 million rubles, causing the state budget pecuniary damage of over 30 million rubles.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, so the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
