The investigating bodies of the Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue an investigation opened on 3 April 2015 in a crime under paragraph “b” of part 2 of article 111 of the RF Penal Code after grievous bodily harm was caused to a child.

According to investigators, on 2 April 2015, a local resident in a flat in Bobruyskaya street in Moscow severely beat the 4-year-old child of his cohabiter by hitting him multiple times by hands and feet and by a sharp object. The boy was treated in the Children’s Clinical Hospital while being in a deep coma.

The man was detained on suspicion of the crime. He was charged and remanded in custody pending trial.

At the same time the investigators checked if the boy’s mother was involved in the crime, however the version found no confirmation. At the moment of the crime the woman was treated at the City Clinical Hospital.

The case was sent to the prosecutor’s office for the indictment to be approved on 3 June 2015. The boy died at the hospital on 9 June 2015. Due to this fact it is planned that the case will be returned to re-qualify the crime to part 4 of article 111 of the RF Penal Code (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm entailing death).

The investigation is ongoing.
