Charges pressed against CEO of large construction company in Moscow

Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has charged CEO of ZAO SU-155 Alexander Meshcheryakov with a crime under part 2 of article 199.1 of the RF Penal Code (failure to act as a tax agent on a very large scale).

According to investigators, Meshcheryakov failed to act as a tax agent when did not transferred to the state budget over 1 billion rubles of income tax for the period 2012-2013. According to investigators, the said money he spent on his personal needs – to give loans to organizations under his control, to buy promissory notes and other securities wishing to consolidate his status, business reputation, maintain his authority among his staff and contractors by financing controlled organizations and using the money meant for paying taxes to ensure current activity of the company.

At present Meshcheryakov is being questioned. After that a court will chose a restraint.
