Following a pre-investigative check, the Volgograd Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation against a 48-year-old resident of Danilovka District. The man is suspected of a crime under part 1 of article 109 of the RF Penal Code (reckless homicide).

According to investigators, the man kept a loaded hunting rifle in the pantry in his house. On 30 June 2015, his 11-year-old nephew found the gun and decided to scare his 5-year-old friend. At some point the older boy pulled the trigger accidentally and fatally wounded the younger child.

At the present time investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime.
