Today the Russia’s Investigative Committee has held an enlarged meeting of the board chaired by Alexander Bastrykin to sum up performance over 6 months of 2015.
The meeting was attended by Head of the Law-Enforcement HR Department of the Presidential State Service and HR Directorate Vasily Bolshakov, Councilor to the Law-Enforcement HR Department of the Presidential State Service and HR Directorate Stanislav Poprygin, First Vice-Chairman of Nationalities Committee of the State Duma Mikhail Starshinov, Minister of the Interior Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Deputy Prosecutor General Vladimir Malinovsky, Acting Director of the Federal Drug Control Service Vladimir Kalanda, head of the M Office of the Federal Security Service Sergey Alpatov, guest of honor advisory to the Prosecutor General, State Councilor of Justice Alexander Sukharev and members of the Public Council of the Russia’s Investigative Committee, officials of the Investigative Committee and other guests.
In his opening speech the Chairman said that “the activity of the Russia’s Investigative Committee’s bodies was carried out in interconnection with systematic measures taken by the country’s leaders to ensure public security, consolidate defense of the country and stop economic crimes under conditions of anti-Russian sanctions”.
Giving statistical numbers, Mr. Bastrykin stated the reduction of the number of very grave crimes: “as a result of comprehensive preventive measures the number of murders has dropped by 4%, acts of deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm by 9%, rapes by 2%. The total number of serious and very serious crimes has fallen by 24%”.
Speaking about the percentage of criminal cases over personal crimes solved, the Chairman said that “the percentage of murders solved has reached 93%, acts of deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm 92% and rapes 97%”.
Mr. Bastrykin highly appreciated the efforts made by the Committee to fight corruption pointing out that: “over 5 months of the current year the Investigative Committee has received over 17.5 thousand reports of corruption crimes, which ended up in almost 11.5 thousand criminal investigations. Almost 5 thousand cases were sent to court”.
Besides, the Chairman set a number of tasks for his subordinates, including to raise the quality of pre-investigating checks and initial investigations, to reduce the time of investigation, to raise the efficiency of procedure control and some others.
During the meeting Mr. Bastrykin congratulated the officials of the Investigative Committee on the coming holiday – the Investigator Day and awarded some of the present.
