Investigation opened in death of people in traffic accident in Khabarovsk Territory

The Khabarovsk Territory Investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in a crime under part 3 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (unsafe services) after several people died in a traffic accident in Khabarovsk Territory.

In the afternoon of 5 August 2015, two coaches collided on the 125th km of the motorway Khabarovsk – Komsomolsk-on-Amur. According to preliminary information 12 passengers died and over 30 were injured.

At present investigators, criminalists of the local investigations directorate, officials of the Khabarovsk Territory Office of the Ministry of the Interior and rescuers of the Emergencies Ministry are working at the scene. The investigators are looking into all circumstances of the crime.

The investigation is ongoing.
