Killers of Coca-Cola factory director to stand trial in Saint Petersburg

The Saint-Petersburg Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia;s Investigative Committee has finished investigation against Denis Chkhitauri and murder convict Vyacheslav Finogenov, charged with crimes under parts 4 and 5 of article 33, paragraph “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code, paragraphs “b” and “c” of part 4 of article 162, part 2 of article 325, part 1 of article 228, part 1 of article 222 (murder, robbery, stealing of documents, illegal circulation of firearms and drug dealing).

According to investigators, on 28 November 2014, Chkhitauri and Finogenov appointed to meet Director of Coca-Cola factory Dmitry Soshnev near the garages in Frunze block. There Finogenov killed the man by shooting him dead from a sawn-off hunting rifle. Then the suspects got hold of Soshnev’s money – about 160 thousand rubles, and documents on his BMW car, which they wanted to sell for 1 million rubles.

During the investigation about 15 forensic enquiries were run: medical, criminal, criminalistic, psychiatric and others.

The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
