Today a number of media have published information that 5 young women were taken to the city hospital with food poisoning and brain edema after they had dined in one of restaurants in the city of Yekaterinburg. According to the publication, the young women had got poisoned by a drink which according to preliminary conclusions of experts contained too much of a toxic substance. The Sverdlovsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a pre-investigative check into the incident.

At the present time, investigators together with representatives of the prosecutor’s office, Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing and police are carrying out operations to find out all the circumstances of the incident. They are going to question the witnesses and the victims, representatives of the restaurant, analyze the food supply documents. The specialists are establishing the case and the sources of poisoning. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
