CEO of enterprise charged with economic crime in North Ossetia-Alania

The North Ossetia-Alania investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have charged the 51-year-old former CEO of Vladikavkaz municipal unitary enterprise Specialized Ecological Service with crimes under part 4 of article 160 of the RF Penal Code (stealing), part “b” of part 2 of article 199 (evasion of corporate tax), part 1 of article 199.1 (failure to do the duty of a tax agent).

According to investigators, between 1 May 2012 and 30 September 2013, former CEO of the enterprise violated the Russian laws by failing to transfer over 3 million rubles of income tax and misappropriated 2.9 million rubles written off for purchasing petrol and diesel fuel which belonged to the enterprise and was entrusted to him.

In addition, between 1 April 2012 and 1 July 2013, the accused evaded paying over 19.5 million rubles of VAT tax.

Following the request of investigators, a court has ruled to place the accused under a house arrest pending trial.

At the present time, necessary investigating operations are underway to consolidate the evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
